Who I am when the camera's off.
Film director, born in Roermond in 1972, lives in Weesp. 25 years behind the camera. Here's the man in front of it.
From editor to director to entrepreneur.
I started at the Film Academy in Amsterdam, as an editor. But I wanted to direct. So I wrote The Bicycle and, with my friend Reinier Selen, founded the production house Rinkelfilm (rinkel, Dutch for the chime of a small bell).
I made the short with Dutch comedian Freek de Jonge and told the entire story without a single word of dialogue. That got me into Columbia University in New York, where I earned my MFA in Film Directing. The Bicycle was acquired by MoMA, the Smithsonian and the Radio & TV Museum in LA.
In New York I met Eda. We have two kids, Ebru and Milan. We moved to Istanbul, where I became Creative Director of Motion Design at Rabarba, Turkey's biggest digital agency. We won a pile of awards there.
After the Gezi protests of 2013 I came back to the Netherlands. For nine years I built the branding agency Studio MINSK. And in 2023 I started WonderLoop.

What?
The feature film I'm going to make.

What's on.

My favorite series.

When I'm not making film, I automate.
I started with Zapier, then Make, then n8n. By now almost everything runs through Claude Code. Not a programmer, but an entrepreneur. That's how three companies came about.
Three sayings I love.
"A zebra is a horse designed by committee."
